Healthcare Trust Of America Q2 Normalized FFO Rises, Hikes Dividend

(RTTNews) - Healthcare Trust of America Inc. (HTA) said that its second-quarter funds from operations were $36.46 million or $0.15 per share, down from $43.61 million or $0.19 per share in the year-ago quarter.

However, normalized funds from operations were $43.53 million or $0.18 per share, up from $35.70 million or $0.16 per share in the year ago quarter. On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.18 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Normalized funds available for distribution was $39.29 million or $0.16 per share, compared to $32.00 million or $0.14 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Net income attributable to common stockholders for the quarter was $2.86 million or $0.02 per share, down from $14.03 million or $0.06 per share in the same quarter last year.

Rental income increased 16 percent to $88.9 million from $77.0 million in the same period last year. The increase in rental income was primarily driven by $515.2 million of acquisitions since June 30, 2013 and same-property growth.

Total revenues for the quarter increased to $89.67 million from $77.62 million in the year-ago quarter. Analysts estimated revenues of $91.75 million for the quarter.

Healthcare Trust of America said its board of directors declared a cash dividend for the quarter ending September 30, 2014.

The directors increased the amount of the dividend to $0.145 per share, which equates to an annualized rate of $0.58 per share. This rate represents a 1 percent increase over the second-quarter rate and will be paid on October 3, 2014 to stockholders of record on September 26, 2014.
