Fresh Del Monte Produce Q2 Net Income Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. (FDP) reported second quarter net income attributable to company of $64.5 million compared to $64.3 million, a year ago. Earnings per share was $1.21 compared to $1.15. Comparable earnings per share were $1.20 in the second quarter of 2015.

Net sales were $1.13 billion, flat with a year ago. Net sales were negatively impacted by a $42.0 million exchange rate variance over the prior year period.

"We are pleased to report solid second quarter results despite the negative year-over-year exchange rates in Europe and Asia and weather related issues that impacted production for some of our products," said Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fresh Del Monte Produce.
