Fiserv Inc. Earnings Advance 12% In Q1

(RTTNews) - Fiserv Inc. (FISV) revealed a profit for its first quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $241 million, or $1.06 per share. This was higher than $215 million, or $0.89 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.02 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.9% to $1.33 billion. This was up from $1.28 billion last year.
