Ducommun Swings To Profit

(RTTNews) - Ducommun Inc (DCO) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $5.2 million or $0.46 per share compared with a loss of $5.2 million or $0.49 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were $187.6 million compared with $188 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.30 per share on revenues of $184.6 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Gross margin for the quarter improved to 17.9% from 10.4% last year.

"Looking ahead, we continue to see many opportunities to grow the business even in an environment of lower defense spending. We believe 2015 will be a transition year where the first half is impacted by a reduction in sales to certain legacy military programs and overall reduced government procurement activity, partially offset by further expansion in Ducommun's commercial aerospace and non A&D end markets," the company said.

Ducommun provides engineering and manufacturing products and services primarily to the aerospace, defense, industrial, natural resources industries, among others.
