DoorDash Stock Up On Q4 Profit, Growth In Orders, Marketplace GOV; Sees Sequentially Higher Q1 GOV

(RTTNews) - Shares of DoorDash Inc (DASH) gained around 6 percent in the after-hours trading on Tuesday after the company reported a profit in its fourth quarter, compared to prior year's loss, driven by strong growth in revenues. Total Orders and Marketplace GOV also climbed from last year. Looking ahead, for the first quarter, the company projects sequentially higher Marketplace GOV.

Looking ahead, for the first quarter, the company projects Adjusted EBITDA in the range of $550 million to $600 million, and Marketplace GOV in the range of $22.6 billion to $23.0 billion.

In terms of general trends through 2025, the company currently expects Adjusted EBITDA as a percentage of Marketplace GOV to increase sequentially, from first quarter to second quarter and again to third quarter.

In its fourth quarter, DoorDash's net income attributable to stockholders was $141 million, compared to loss of $154 million last year.

Earnings per share were $0.34, compared to prior year's loss of $0.39. Analysts on average projected $0.33 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Adjusted EBITDA increased to $566 million from $363 million a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA as a percentage of Marketplace GOV was 2.7 percent, compared to 2.1 percent last year.

Revenue increased 25 percent to $2.873 billion from $5.303 billion in the same period last year.

Total Orders climbed 19 percent year-over-year to 685 million, driven by growth in consumers and growth in average consumer engagement. Marketplace GOV grew 21 percent from last year to $21.3 billion.

On the Nasdaq, DoorDash shares closed Tuesday's regular trading at $193.09, up 0.24 percent.

Following the earnings report, the shares gained 5.8 percent further in the extended trading to $204.20.
