Dish Network President & CEO Joseph Clayton To Retire On March 31 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Satellite television provider Dish Network Corp. (DISH) announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Clayton will retire from his positions and as a director, effective March 31, 2015. Clayton has served at the helm since June of 2011.

Clayton, a 42-year veteran of the consumer electronics industry, joined Dish in 2011 after serving as chairman of Sirius Satellite Radio Inc., from November 2004 through July 2008 and as CEO of Sirius from November 2001 through November 2004.

The company announced that Co-founder and Chairman Charles Ergen will assume the role as president and CEO after Clayton leaves. Ergen has previously stepped down from the positions to focus on long-term business development and acquisitions.
