Dish Network 2014 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Satellite television provider Dish Network Corp. (DISH) reported that net income for fiscal 2014 increased 17.0 percent to $945 million from $807 million in 2013, and earnings per share also grew to $2.04 from last year's $1.76.

On average, 24 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.59 per share for the year. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the full year improved 5.3 percent to $14.6 billion from $13.9 billion in fiscal 2013. Wall Street analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $14.66 billion.

Dish ended 2014 with about 13.978 million Pay-TV subscribers, down from about 14.057 million at the end of 2013.

The company added about 141,000 net broadband subscribers in 2014, bringing its total broadband subscriber base to about 577,000, compared to about 436,000 at the close of 2013.
