artnet Launches Content Management System for Galleries

Berlin/New York, September 11, 2017-artnet is pleased to announce the launch of the Gallery Portal, a new tool that gives gallery members the ability to manage and maintain their artnet member sites.

This new feature affords member galleries full independence in managing their gallery page on artnet and thus their relationship with the public at large. It will lead the Gallery Network back to growth, in line with the other segments of artnet. artnet News reported growth of approximately 48 % in the first seven months of 2017, as compared to the same period 2016. artnet Auctions posted approximately 45 % revenue growth, Price Database revenue grew by approximately 1 %, and advertising revenue grew by approximately 16 % in the first seven months of 2017.

The launch of the Gallery Portal is the first in several releases to follow with the aim to strengthen the Gallery Network and support galleries struggling with high operational costs and intense competition. The present release was met with enthusiastic response from galleries. "It's straightforward, user friendly, and once published, everything looks beautiful," said Maria Bueno, director, sales of Cheim & Read Gallery.
