Death of an inmate from Federal training center

LAVAL, QC, July 18, 2018 /CNW/ - On July 16^th, 2018, an inmate from Federal training Centre, died while in our custody of apparent natural causes following an illness.

At the time of her death, Mr. Ratelle, 62 years old, had been serving a sentence of 9 years, for robbery, assault causing injury, assault army, possession of weapons, break-ins and sequestration since November 15^th, 2015.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances and contact the police and the coroner if required.
