SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI) has been a fantastic place for investors to put their money over the past few years. The company's ability to attract new customers and stand out among rivals in a highly competitive fintech market has caused SoFi's share price to surge 4X over the past three years -- with 250% returns coming in the last year alone.It's understandable, then, that some investors might assume that buying SoFi stock right away could set them up for life.
