CORRECTING and REPLACING Philips Delivers Premium Service to FlatTV(TM) Customers with Simplicity Advantage

Please replace the release dated October 18, 2007 with the following corrected version due to multiple revisions. The corrected release reads: PHILIPS DELIVERS PREMIUM SERVICE TO FLATTV™ CUSTOMERS WITH SIMPLICITY ADVANTAGE Philips, a world leader in FlatTV displays, announced today the creation of a service program that makes HDTV ownership a simple and reassuring experience. Philips’ Simplicity Advantage program offers a compelling new level of service for FlatTV customers, making the post-purchase period simple, assured and even comforting. Those who buy a 37” diagonal or larger Philips FlatTV product will automatically receive three key benefits of the Simplicity Advantage program: lifetime technical call-center support, prompt scheduling of in-home warranty repairs where geographically available, and a simplified exchange program for consumers residing in an area without a nearby authorized service center. Flat TV products of 26” diagonal and below also receive royal treatment. For these smaller-sized sets with technical issues that arise in the first 30 days after purchase, Philips will send the customer a new replacement unit if the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. After the 30-day purchase window, customers with unresolved difficulties inside the warranty period will receive a refurbished unit. Units usually ship out the next day and then the customer only needs to put their set in the box for return shipment. This ensures the consumer doesn’t have to hassle with shipping details or being without a TV. "Today’s consumer places a premium on time and seeks the most efficient and convenient resolution to issues,” said Adam Sherry, vice-president of service for Philips Consumer Electronics North America. "Philips’ Simplicity Advantage program provides consumers a hassle-free, fast method of resolving service related issues with their FlatTV purchase. This program is designed to let us worry about the details, so the consumer can simply enjoy their FlatTV product.” Whether it’s learning how to tune in local HDTV channels or what the best connection is for a Blu-ray Disc® player, Philips’ Simplicity Advantage program aims to engage customers and provide a knowledgeable, human connection that removes the worry from the seemingly complex world of digital TV. Delivering on its commitment and brand promise, Philips’ Simplicity Advantage program brings the same level of service to consumers that is already present in Philips’ technology. Philips is devoted to providing the consumer with peace of mind, instilling confidence that their purchase is backed by the support of an organization committed to resolving issues quickly and answering questions immediately -- premium service for premium products.
