Comcast Q2 Profit Increases - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Comcast Corp. (CMCSA, CMCSK) reported that its net income attributable to the company for the second-quarter increased to $2.137 billion from $1.992 billion in the prior year.

Earnings per share for the second quarter of 2015 were $0.84, a 10.5% increase from the $0.76 reported in the second quarter of 2014.

Excluding a gain on the settlement of a contingent consideration liability with General Electric Company, a gain on the sale of an investment, a loss resulting from the early redemption of debt, transaction-related costs, and a loss on an investment in the second quarter of 2015, as well as a gain on the sale of an investment and transaction-related costs in the second quarter of 2014, earnings per share increased 12.0% to $0.84. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.83 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Consolidated revenue for the second quarter of 2015 increased 11.3% to $18.74 billion from $16.84 billion in the prior year. Wall Street expected revenues of $18.19 billion for the quarter.
