Cirrus Logic Names Scott Anderson to Lead Mixed-Signal Audio Division

Cirrus Logic Inc. (Nasdaq:CRUS) has named Scott Anderson, a 27-year semiconductor industry veteran and former president and chief operating officer of Freescale Semiconductor, as senior vice president and general manager of the Mixed-Signal Audio division. Anderson fills the position vacated when Jason Rhode was named Cirrus Logic president and chief executive officer in May. "When we began the search we set our sights high, looking for a leader with a proven track record of growing businesses. We wanted someone who could provide inspiring leadership for the division and carry forward our corporate vision, mission and values, and most importantly, deliver bottom-line results — Scott’s that guy,” said Jason Rhode, president and chief executive officer, Cirrus Logic. "In addition to his exceptional, results-driven background, Scott is regarded throughout the industry as outstanding to work with and we’re excited to have him on our team.” At Cirrus Logic, Anderson will oversee the company’s Mixed-Signal Audio division, which provides high-precision analog and mixed-signal components such as data converters, Class D amplification products and interface circuits which are used in a wide variety of consumer, professional and automotive audio applications. Anderson was named president and chief executive officer of Motorola’s Semiconductor Products Sector in June of 2003, becoming president and chief operating officer of Freescale Semiconductor from 2004-2005. Motorola’s semiconductor unit was spun off to form Freescale in 2004. Anderson joined Motorola SPS in Austin in 1978 as a microprocessor product engineer and served in a variety of engineering and management positions. In 1991, he was appointed vice president and general manager of the Customer Specified Integrated Circuits Division and in 1996 moved to Japan as the managing director of the Semiconductor Products Division and deputy general manager of Nippon Motorola Ltd. From 1999 to 2003, Anderson served as the general manager of the Transportation and Standard Products Group. Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Utah, where he graduated magna cum laude. "Cirrus Logic has competitive technology, an exciting list of customers and tremendous upside, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with Jason and the Cirrus team,” Anderson said. "I believe my background and leadership at Freescale and Motorola SPS will be important in helping drive the company's growth.” Cirrus Logic Inc.
