CI Financial reports assets under management

TORONTO, Jan. 2, 2018 /CNW/ - CI Financial Corp. ("CI") today reported preliminary assets under management at December 31, 2017 of $143.7 billion and total assets of $186.3 billion.

Assets under management grew by $25.8 billion or 21.9% in 2017, and decreased 0.3% in the month of December. Total assets gained $30.2 billion or 19.3% for the 12-month period and decreased by 0.2% in the month of December. The year-over-year gains include the acquisition of Sentry Investments, which was completed on October 2, 2017.

CI's average assets under management for the fourth quarter were $142.5 billion, versus $120.3 billion for the third quarter of 2017. Average assets under management for the fiscal year were $126.3 billion, a gain of $15.4 billion or 13.9% from the average for fiscal 2016.

CI reported assets under advisement at Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd. and Stonegate Private Counsel of $42.6 billion at December 31, 2017, representing an increase of $4.4 billion or 11.5% for the year.
