Charter Communications Q1 Loss Narrows - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Charter Communications, Inc. (CHTR) reported a first-quarter net loss of $37 million compared to a $68 million net loss on a pro forma basis and $42 million net loss on an actual basis in the year-ago period. Net loss per share was $0.35 compared to $0.68 on a pro forma basis, and $0.42 on an actual basis during the same period last year. The company said its net loss decreased year-over-year on a pro forma basis primarily due to higher Adjusted EBITDA in the first quarter of 2014. On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.12 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues rose 14.9% to $2.20 billion from $1.92 billion. Analysts expected revenue of $2.18 billion for the quarter. First-quarter revenues increased 7.5% on a pro forma basis than the year-ago quarter, due to growth in Internet, video and commercial revenues.
