California Schools Push for More Teachers

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Education is the great equalizer, the most powerful path to success, and the most valuable asset in the modern era…yet the next generation's ability to get a quality education is being threatened by one of the worst teacher shortage crises in modern history.

California is ranked 50th— dead last— in student to teacher ratios.

In an effort to stem this dangerous tide, the California School of Education at Alliant International University has partnered with local school districts in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego to connect aspiring educators with schools looking to fill their classrooms.

The ongoing partnership efforts will be culminating this Saturday, January 21st in the School District Hiring Fairs being held across the state.  The event will bring aspiring teachers, school psychologists, and school counselors together with school districts looking to fill those empty seats in front of the class. There will be educational breakout sessions on how to launch a teaching career, how to launch a career in school psychology, teacher education and credentialing, and more.

Few career paths offer such entrenched levels of civic engagement, such emotionally rewarding dividends, and such direct force of impact upon America's children as a career in education.

Few careers are as vital to a healthy, prosperous society as those of our educators.
