CAI Int'l Profit Falls 10%, Yet Tops Estimates

(RTTNews) - Container leasing company CAI International Inc. (CAP) Monday reported fourth-quarter net income to stockholders of $15.6 million or $0.69 per share compared with $17.4 million or $0.85 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were $54.6 million compared with $50 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.68 per share on revenues of $54.18 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Results for the quarter were largely offset by operating expenses that escalated to $28 million from $20 million a year ago.

Moving forward, the company said it expects growth in rental revenues.
