Business Development Staffing Growth for Global Patent and Trade Mark Firm Murgitroyd & Company

Global patent and trade mark law firm, Murgitroyd & Company, continues to expand its North American business development team. Following an extensive search, Tom Kepner has been named the firm’s newest Global IP Counsel Liaison.

Tom will work to manage existing client relationships as well as pursue new business opportunities throughout the western territory of the country. He will primarily focus his efforts on the Southern California and Bay Area markets, and the Pacific Northwest.

Kepner joined the firm in February 2013 and brings an extensive background in business development, regional and national sales as well as consulting to his new role. Moreover, with all the recent innovation by information technology, bio-medical and pharmaceutical companies in the past few years, the opportunity to join an industry leader and utilize my unique skill set was very inviting. Academically sound in business administration and development practices, Kepner possesses a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from UCLA Anderson School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University. His strong practical business development and management experience includes Director of Sales and Regional Sales Manager positions with Pitney Bowes. He is a Phi Eta Sigma Scholar and currently resides in California with his wife and three children.

Head of Global Sales and Marketing, Jamie LeLiever, brought Kepner onboard to expand west coast business because of his vast knowledge of the region’s best practices, resources and large network within the Silicon Valley. "He knows the landscape, the major players, and brings the right level of enthusiasm needed for this position to further develop our west coast presence.” LeLiever said.
