Bunge Q4 Profit, Revenue Drop - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Bunge Limited (BG), engaged in agriculture and food businesses, Thursday said fourth-quarter attributable profit fell to $82 million or $0.56 per share from $115 million or $0.78 per share in the previous year.
Net income per common share from continuing operations dropped to $0.60 from $0.75.
Adjusted net income per common share from continuing operations was $1.20, while it totaled $1.35 last year. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $2.51 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net sales declined to $13.898 billion from last year's $16.375 billion. Analysts expected revenues of $16.72 billion.
The company expects results to be seasonally weaker in the first half of the year, and anticipates its earnings mix in 2015 to be more heavily weighted toward higher tax jurisdictions.
Soren Schroder, CEO, said, "Overall, we are optimistic that we will achieve our ROIC target of at least 9% for our core Agribusiness and Food & Ingredients operations while also growing earnings on a trajectory to reach our 2017 target of $8.50 per share."
