Bunge Executive Chairman Alberto Weisser To Retire From Board

(RTTNews) - Agribusiness and food company Bunge Limited (BG), Friday said executive chairman, Alberto Weisser will step down from the board with effect from December 31, in line with his planned retirement. Weisser was the executive chairman from June 2013, and previously served as chairman and CEO since 1999. The company has named Patrick Lupo as non-executive chairman, effective January 1, 2014. Lupo has been in Bunge's Board since 2006 and currently serves as deputy chairman and lead independent director, as well as chairman of the Compensation Committee. He is the former chairman and CEO of DHL Worldwide Express.

Separately, the company declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.30 per share, payable on March 3, 2014 to shareholders of record on February 18, 2014. The food firm also proposed a quarterly cash dividend of $1.21875 per share on its 4.875% cumulative convertible perpetual preference shares, payable on March 1, 2014 to shareholders on record February 15, 2014.
