BT Group Q3 Profit Rises; Backs View; Forms New Organisational Structure
(RTTNews) - Communications services provider BT Group Plc (BT_A.L, BT) reported Monday that its third-quarter profit before tax increased 24 percent to 862 million pounds from 694 million pounds last year.
Earnings per share were 9.5 pence, up 38 percent from 6.9 pence last year.
Adjusted pre-tax profit was 928 million pounds, compared to 814 million pounds a year ago. Adjusted earnings per share were 9 pence, compared to 8 pence last year.
Revenues for the quarter increased 4 percent to 4.637 billion pounds from last year's 4.475 billion pounds. Adjusted revenues grew 3 percent to 4.594 billion pounds.
Looking ahead for fiscal 2016, the company reaffirmed outlook for standalone BT's EBITDA and cash flow. Revenue growth is expected to be 1% to 2%.
Separately, BT announced a new organisational structure that will take effect from April. This follows its acquisition of EE, a UK-based mobile network operator.
Under this structure, there will be six lines of business. Two will serve consumers, two will focus on businesses and the public sector - one in the UK and Ireland and one globally - and two will provide wholesale services to other industry players.
