BT Group Q2 Profit Rises On Strong Revenues; Says On Track To Achieve FY View
(RTTNews) - BT Group plc (BT_A.L, BT) reported Thursday that its second-quarter profit before tax increased 5 percent to 671 million pounds from last year's 642 million pounds. Earnings per share, meanwhile, declined 10 percent to 5.7 pence from 6.3 pence last year.
Adjusted profit before tax was 873 million pounds, compared to 706 million pounds a year ago. Adjusted earnings per share were 7.2 pence, compared to 6.9 pence last year.
Adjusted EBITDA climbed 31 percent year-over-year to 1.89 billion pounds. Underlying EBITDA adjusted for the acquisition of EE was up 0.9%.
Reported revenues for the quarter climbed 35% to 6.007 billion pounds from last year's 4.46 billion pounds.
Adjusted revenues climbed 38 percent. Growth in underlying revenue excluding transit adjusted for the acquisition of EE was up 1.1%.
Chief Executive Gavin Patterson said, "This is a positive set of results, both operationally and financially, and we remain on track to achieve our full year outlook."
Further, the company announced an interim dividend of 4.85 pence per share, 10 percent higher than last year.
