Big Lots, Inc. Names Lisa Bachmann Senior Vice President of Information Technology/Merchandise Planning and Allocation

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Big Lots , America's largest broadline closeout retailer, has appointed Lisa Bachmann Senior Vice President of Information Technology/Merchandise Planning and Allocation. Ms. Bachmann will report to Steve Fishman, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President.

Ms. Bachmann (44) joined Big Lots in 2002 as Senior Vice President of Merchandise Planning and Allocation, and has been responsible for merchandise planning, allocation, and replenishment for more than 1,500 retail stores. In her expanded role, Bachmann will also oversee mission-critical information technology for all areas of the company, including supply chain management, merchandise planning, allocation, distribution, store operations, finance, human resources, and business processes.

In announcing Ms. Bachmann's appointment, Mr. Fishman stated, "I am delighted that we can appoint one of our own talented leaders to this important position. She is a proven professional who brings a wealth of retail, systems, and strategic planning experience to the role. Bachmann brings over two decades of retail and financial experience to her position. Prior to joining Big Lots, she was Senior Vice President of Planning and Allocation for Ames Department Stores, a general merchandise discount retailer. She also served as Vice President of Planning and Allocation for the Casual Corner Group, overseeing Casual Corner, August Max, and Petite Sophisticate Brands.

She holds an MBA and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Western New England College in Springfield, Mass.
