Baidu Q3 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of 3.05 billion Chinese yuan, or $498.0 million, up from 3.01 billion yuan in the same period last year. On a per-share basis, earnings improved to 8.63 yuan, or $1.41, from 8.59 yuan last year.

On an ADS basis, adjusted earnings attributable to Baidu totaled 9.04 yuan per share or $1.48 per share. On average, 15 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn 8.65 yuan for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 42.3 percent to 8.892 billion yuan, or $1.45 billion, from 6.25 billion yuan last year. Analysts expected revenues of 8.81 billion yuan.

Looking ahead to the fourth-quarter, Baidu has forecast revenues in the range of 9.220 billion yuan to 9.480 billion yuan, or $1.507 billion to $1.549 billion. Analysts currently expect fourth-quarter revenues of 8.90 billion yuan.
