B/E Aerospace Beats Q2 Estimates; Ups 2013 EPS View - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - B/E Aerospace Inc. (BEAV), a manufacturer of cabin interior products for commercial aircraft and business jets, posted a rise in second-quarter net earnings to $92.4 million, or $0.89 per share, from $71.2 million, or $0.69 per share, a year ago. On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.85 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Operating earnings for the second quarter were $158.7 million, a 15.2 percent increase from $137.8 million in the prior year period, and operating margin was 18.7 percent, that increased 80 basis points from the prior year. The company said the growth in both operating earnings and operating margin occurred mainly as a result of operating leverage at the higher revenue level and ongoing operational efficiency initiatives.
The firm clocked revenues of $850.3 million in the recent quarter, up 10.7 percent, compared with $768.1 million last year. Analysts estimated revenues of $843.34 million for the quarter.
For full year 2013, B/E Aerospace increased its earnings per share guidance by $0.05 per share to $3.50 per share, representing nearly 24 percent increase as compared with 2012 per-share earnings. Nineteen analysts project earnings of $3.52 per share for the year.
