AT&T, Sprint To Offer IPhone 5s And IPhone 5c, Beginning September 20 - Update

(RTTNews) - Telecom companies AT&T, Inc. (T) and Sprint Corp. (S) will offer Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) latest smartphones iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, beginning Friday, September 20, the companies said in their separate statements.

AT&T said its qualified customers can purchase iPhone from AT&T Next with no money down and upgrade after one year. In addition to low monthly installments with AT&T Next, iPhone 5s will be available for $199 for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB model and $399 for the 64GB model.

AT&T added that iPhone 5c will be available for $99 for the 16GB model and $199 for the 32GB model. In addition, iPhone 4s will be available for $0.99 with two-year agreement. Customers can pre-order iPhone 5c beginning today.

Sprint, in its statement, said that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be available in all its retail channels. All Sprint-owned retail stores will open at 8:00 a.m. local time on that day. From Sprint, iPhone 5s will be available for $199.99 for the 16GB model, $299.99 for the 32GB model and $399.99 for the 64GB model. iPhone 5c will be available for $99.99 for the 16GB model and $199.99 for the 32GB model. Additionally, iPhone 4S will be available for free for the 8GB model.

Sprint added that prices exclude taxes with a new line or eligible upgrade with a two year service agreement. Customers can pre-order iPhone 5c beginning September 13 at www.sprint.com/iphone.

Both AT&T and Sprint will offer iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on their respective 4G LTE network.

AT&T shares closed Thursday's trading at $34.38, up $0.40 or 1.19 percent. In the after-hours trading, shares gained 0.10 percent further to $34.41.

Sprint settled at $6.69, 2.92 percent higher than previous day, but declined 0.60 percent in the extended trading.
