Aratana Therapeutics Names Craig Tooman CFO - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Aratana Therapeutics, Inc. (PETX) said it has appointed Craig Tooman as Chief Financial Officer and John Ayres as its General Counsel. Louise Mawhinney, former CFO of Aratana, would stay with the company.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Tooman is widely versed in international finance, sales, market research, business intelligence, corporate strategy, M&A and investor relations. Immediately earlier to his joining the executive team, Tooman had served as a Director and Chairman of Aratana's Audit Committee; he served as a board member from March 2012 until his appointment as CFO. In addition, Tooman would move from his current role of CEO of Avanzar Medical, Inc., an oncology company, to focus on Aratana.

Previously, Tooman held executive roles at large pharmaceutical companies, including Pharmacia and Upjohn, and served as the CFO of Enzon Pharmaceuticals and Ikaria. Ayres joins Aratana from Amgen Inc., where he was a member of the Corporate and Securities Law group.
