American International Group Q3 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - American International Group, Inc. (AIG) Thursday reported third-quarter net income attributable to the company of $2.2 billion or $1.46 per share, up from $1.9 billion or $1.13 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

After-tax operating income attributable to AIG was $1.4 billion or $0.96 per share.

On average, 23 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.95 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Pre-tax income increased to $1.03 billion from $949 million last year. Net premiums written totaled $8.66 billion, down from $8.71 billion last year. Net investment income declined to $1.18 billion from $1.23 billion in the prior year period.
