Ambev Q1 Profit Grows - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Ambev S.A. (ABEV) reported a 9.4% improvement in first-quarter 2014 profit to R$2.6 billion, from R$2.37 billion a year earlier, with quarterly earnings per share rising to R$0.16, from R$0.15 last year.

For the quarter, the company delivered 16.9% organic growth in net sales to reach R$9.045 billion, compared with the prior year's R$7.83 billion. Volume expanded 6.8% on an organic basis, whilst net revenue per hectoliter grew 9.4%. This performance was mainly driven by Brazil Beer with a strong 21.1% net revenue growth, along with solid top line performance in most of the firm's divisions.
