AgJunction Appoints M. Brett McMickell, Ph.D., as Senior Vice President of Global Product Development
HIAWATHA, KS, Nov. 7, 2017 /CNW/ - AgJunction Inc. (TSX: AJX) ("AgJunction" or the "Company"), a leader in automated steering and machine control technology for precision agriculture, has appointed M. Brett McMickell, Ph.D, as senior vice president of global product development. In his role, he will lead all engineering and product development, as well as drive the technology road map for AgJunction.
For the past twelve years, Dr. McMickell held various management positions, including senior director of program management at Honeywell Aerospace. For the past year-and-a-half, he was responsible for a team of 180 engineers focused on new product development for aircraft and space actuation systems. Prior to this, Dr. McMickell led the development of the strategic and operating plans for Honeywell's Orion Space Programs.
"Brett brings to AgJunction a wealth of technical expertise in both control systems and autonomous platforms," said Dave Vaughn, president and CEO of AgJunction. "His experience driving major software and hardware development programs not only required interaction with multiple major corporations, but also the coordination and cooperation of engineering teams around the world. We believe this will add tremendous value to our engineering team as we move closer to the agriculture machine manufacturers."
Dr. McMickell holds an MBA in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University and received his Ph.D. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He has been recognized by both the industry and Honeywell for his outstanding achievements and has received numerous patents in the area of space and control systems.
