After-market Movers For July 23 (AMZN, T, SBUX, V, TRUE, SPNC, TRIP)

Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) surged 17 percent to $564.00. The company posted a surprising second quarter profit, while Wall Street expected the company to report a loss. Net sales for the quarter rose 20 percent and also topped the consensus estimate.

AT&T, Inc. (T) was up 2 percent to $34.62 after its second quarter adjusted earnings topped Street view. Revenues for the quarter rose 1.4 percent, but missed estimate by a whisker.

Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) rose 4 percent to $59.15. The company's third quarter earnings and net revenues improved from the year-ago period. The company also raised its outlook for fiscal 2015. Starbucks announced an agreement with PepsiCo, Inc. (PEP) for the marketing, sales and distribution of a locally-relevant portfolio of its ready-to-drink coffee and energy products in Latin America.

Visa Inc. (V) was up 6 percent to $76.60 as its third quarter earnings per share and revenue topped analysts' expectations.

Decliners:

TrueCar, Inc. (TRUE) plunged 38 percent to $6.57. The company expects to report a loss for its second quarter and also reported preliminary second quarter revenue below the consensus estimate due to a shortfall in unit volume. TrueCar also reduced its 2015 full year revenue guidance.

Spectranetics Corp. (SPNC) declined 19 percent to $20.00. The company's second quarter net loss widened from the year-ago quarter. Revenue missed the consensus estimate. The company adjusted its 2015 outlook based on first-half results that fell short of plan and tempered expectations for the second half.

TripAdvisor, Inc. (TRIP) fell 9 percent to $84.72 as its second quarter results missed analysts expectations.
