"127 Hours" Amputee Aron Ralston Arrested In Colorado

(RTTNews) - Aron Ralston, the man best known for cutting off his own arm when trapped by a Utah canyon boulder, has been arrested on domestic violence charges in Colorado.

Citing police documents, the Denver Post reports Ralston, 38, was arrested Saturday night and is being held in the Denver City Jail facing one count of assault and one count of wrongs to minors.

In 2003, Ralston amputated his own right forearm with a dull multi-tool in order to extricate himself from a dislodged boulder. The ordeal was the inspiration for a best-selling book and later a Hollywood film, "127 Hours," starring James Franco.
