Seamless Concludes Agreement with NilsonGroup – Sweden’s Largest Shoe Retailer with 320 Stores
Seamless (STO:SEAM) – which is listed on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm – has concluded an agreement with Sweden’s leading shoe retail chain NilsonGroup, which has some 320 stores in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The agreement will enable NilsonGroup’s customers to use SEQR for conveniently paying by mobile phone.
The NilsonGroup incorporates the brands Din Sko, Nilson Shoes, Skopunkten, Jerns, Radical Sports and Ecco.
"Being entrusted by another of Sweden’s largest retail companies such as NilsonGroup shows that we have the leading mobile payment solution. Virtually everyone who has tested SEQR has been struck by its simplicity and user-friendliness. And with our solution, NilsonGroup can avoid the high charges of banks and card companies,” says Peter Fredell, President and CEO of Seamless.
The agreement means that Seamless will receive a transaction fee for every SEQR payment that is made in stores that belong to NilsonGroup.
"There is nothing to suggest that the strong increase in demand we have been seeing for mobile services seen is coming to an end. NilsonGroup aims to be at the forefront of this development by offering its customers a secure, simple form of payment by mobile phone,” says Torsten Balslev, CIO of NilsonGroup AB.
As a payment solution, SEQR is very simple to use. All the customer needs is to do is scan in a QR code at the checkout and then approve the payment with their PIN. There is no communication between the customer’s mobile phone and cash register system, which means that no information about the funds for payment is exchanged during the purchase. This also means that the security level for SEQR-based payments is much higher than a regular card payment where the card number and holder’s personal details are openly displayed and easily accessible.
SEQR payments are processed in Seamless’s own transaction switching, which entails significant cost advantages when compared with the high fees charged by banks and card companies. When paying by SEQR, customers get an invoice account with at Collector, interest-free and at no extra charge.

SEQR works just as well for physical transactions as for e-commerce, and is both faster and more secure than card payments. The technology behind the solution means that there is no investment cost for retailers. All that is required is a QR code sticker at the POS terminal.
