Empire District Electric Q2 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Empire District Electric Co. (EDE) Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $11.7 million or $0.27 per share, compared to earnings of $10.7 million or $0.25 per share last year.

Looking forward to the full year 2013, the company maintained its earnings guidance range of $1.26 to $1.43 per share.

Electric segment revenues for the quarter rose to $127.0 million from $124.1 million, while gas segment revenues increased to $7.8 million from $5.8 million.

The company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share, payable September 16 2013 to holders of record as of September 3, 2013.
