Visa Inc. Q4 Profit Increases, beats estimates

(RTTNews) - Visa Inc. (V) reported earnings for its fourth quarter that increased from last year and beat the Street estimates.

The company's earnings came in at $4.68 billion, or $2.27 per share. This compares with $3.94 billion, or $1.86 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Excluding items, Visa Inc. reported adjusted earnings of $4.82 billion or $2.33 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $2.12 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 10.5% to $8.61 billion from $7.79 billion last year.
