Stein Mart June Total Sales Up 7.5%, Comparable Store Sales Increase 5.8%

(RTTNews) - Fashion retailer Stein Mart, Inc. (SMRT) Thursday said total sales for the five-week period ended July 4 grew 7.5 percent to $121.7 million from $113.2 million for the five-week period ended July 5, 2014.

Comparable store sales increased 5.8 percent from June 2014.

Total sales of $588.5 million for the twenty-two week period ended July 4, 2015 increased 6.7 percent from $551.7 million for the twenty-two week period ended July 5, 2014. Comparable store sales for 22 weeks increased 4.5 percent.

Geographically, sales were consistently strong across all regions except the Northeast and Midwest that were more challenged.

The company operated 269 stores at the end of June this year compared to 265 stores last year.
