Outstanding federal public servants recognized

OTTAWA, Nov. 28, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, the recipients of the 2017 Public Service Award of Excellence were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the federal public service.

Michael Wernick, Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet, presented the awards at a ceremony in Ottawa, and congratulated recipients on their significant achievements.

During the ceremony, 26 awards were presented in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Career
  • Exemplary Contribution under Extraordinary Circumstances
  • Exceptional Young Public Servants
  • Excellence in Profession
  • The Joan Atkinson Award for Public Sector Values in the Workplace

Every day, public servants across the Government of Canada are contributing to a culture of experimentation, innovation and change in order to deliver results for Canadians. The recipients of the Public Service Award of Excellence represent some of the best and brightest public servants, all of whom play an important role in helping the government to offer better and more efficient programs and services.
