Lincoln Financial Q1 Results Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - Lincoln Financial Group (LNC) reported net income for the first quarter of $329 million or $1.21 per share, compared to $239 million or $0.86 per share for the year-ago quarter.

First quarter income from operations was $365 million or $1.34 per share, compared to $285 million or $1.02 per share in the prior year quarter.

Total operating revenues for the first quarter rose to $3.23 billion from $2.93 billion a year ago. Total revenue grew to $3.18 billion from $2.84 billion a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.29 per share on revenue of $3.17 billion for the first quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
