First Solar Q3 Profit Up - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $195.04 million or $1.94 per share, up from $87.92 million or $1.00 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $2.28 per share. On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.00 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales jumped to $1.3 billion from $839.15 million last year. Analysts expected sales of $988.63 million.

Looking ahead, the company has raised its full-year earnings outlook to a range of $4.25 to $4.50 per share from its prior target range of $3.75 to $4.25 per share.
