First American Financial Q3 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - First American Financial Corp. (FAF) reported that net income for the third-quarter rose to $187.2 million or $1.65 per share, from $151.5 million, or $1.34 per share, in the third quarter of 2018.

Net realized investment gains in the latest-quarter were $1.5 million, or 1 cent per share, compared with net realized investment gains of $11.1 million, or 8 cents per share, last year.

Total revenue for the third quarter was $1.7 billion, an increase of 8 percent from the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.44 per share and revenues of $1.63 billion. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
